Big Stone Gap, VA. The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park continues the 2017 Artisan Series of programs with the March theme being “Fused Glass Mobile Workshop” hosted by Carol & Ray Moore. The workshop will be held on Monday, March 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the administrative office building.
Participants who register for the “Fused Glass Mobile Workshop” will join Ray & Carol for a fun-filled evening learning how to create their own unique fused glass mobile using colored glass. Glass cutters will be provided for those interested in learning how to cut their own glass. Participants will also learn to hang their mobile once it is finished. After the mobile is designed, Ray and Carol Moore, of Appalachian Warm Glass, LLC will fuse your design in their kiln. Within a week, you can pick your mobile up at the park.
The fee for the “Fused Glass Mobile Workshop” will be $30.00 per person; all supplies and materials are included.
Spaces are limited for the workshop, so register early by calling (276) 523-1322.
The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park’s Artisan Series will offer a craft project on the third Monday of every month from March through December, providing visitors with opportunities to create handmade crafts with regional artisans.
